Officers and Directors 

Craig Snyder - President/CEO
Craig Snyder - President/CEO

Craig Snyder is President, Chief Executive Officer and a principal of Sioux Falls Tower. Founded in 1989, Sioux Falls Tower is a leader in telecommunications tower construction and maintenance services serving the wireless, utilities, wind energy and broadcast sectors.

Craig is co-founder of Sioux Falls Tower and has served as its president since its inception. With an entrepreneurial instinct, his focus is on building a strong operating company with quality and integrity at its core. Under his leadership the company has grown significantly over the years with continued organic growth and expansion through mergers and acquisitions - some of his principal responsibilities. He has also dedicated significant time and resources to the betterment of the tower industry as a whole helping to found the National Association of Tower Erectors where he served on the volunteer board of directors for eleven years concluding his service as chairman of the board. He has also been actively involved in the promulgation of engineering standards for tower design and maintenance as a member of the Telecommunications Industry Association standard writing body TR14 where he served as volunteer chairman of the TIA 222 committee for eight years.

Bart Roberts - Executive Vice President
Bart Roberts - Executive Vice President

Bart Roberts is Senior Vice President and a principal of Sioux Falls Tower and a member of the board of directors since its inception in 1989. He also serves as Regional Manager overseeing the Sioux Falls office. Bart is co-founder of the company and a key visionary in its efficient operation and sustained growth.

Bart is known in the company as the “grease gun”, using a metaphor for his ability to apply lubrication to the mechanism of the company at just the right time and in just the right way. He’s the important person that sets out to keep the operations running smoothly with a focus on employee relations and morale. He also oversees the physical plant, fleet, and equipment and is the chief person in charge of major asset acquisitions.

Prior to co-founding Sioux Falls Tower, Bart attended college at Utah Valley University while also working as a tower hand for another company. He and his wife Lori have been married 18 years, live in Sioux Falls, and have six children.

Mike Young - Chief Operating Officer
Mike Young - Chief Operating Officer

Mike Young is Chief Operating Officer and a principal of Sioux Falls Tower. He has been a key member of its management team since 2005. In his current role, Mike has helped oversee company expansion to Rapid City, Orem UT and Denver CO while simultaneously managing all of its field operations and employees.

Mike started in the company as a tower hand moving up quickly to Crew Chief and then Project Manager before being name COO in 2016. He continues to be a key visionary for the short and long term growth of the company. Mike is actively involved as a volunteer with the National Association of Tower Erectors where he serves on the Safety and Education Committee and is the Chairman for the Climber Connection Subcommittee.  He is also involved with the Make-A-Wish foundation in the Sioux Falls area where he serves as a wish granter. 

Mike is a graduate of South Central College where he studied Wireless Communications. He and his wife Sarah have been together 9 years, live in Humboldt SD, and have one child.

Emily Kennington - Chief Financial Officer
Emily Kennington - Chief Financial Officer

Emily Kennington is Secretary and Treasurer, Chief Financial Officer and a principal of Sioux Falls Tower. She has been with the company since 1996. In her current role she oversees the administrative team responsible for payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, human resources and other support tasks.

Emily started with the company as its book keeper just as it was experiencing significant growth driven by the Telecommunications Act of 1996 and its resultant wireless boom. She developed systems important to the back office growth of the company, adding and training staff as needed, with an ever vigilant eye toward control of its finances and increased profitability. Prior to joining Sioux Falls Tower she worked in the financial services sector.

Emily attended Dakota Wesleyan University studying music. She and her husband, Lance have been married four years, live in Sioux Falls, and enjoy a blended family including five children and a cat.

Leland Langstraat - VP Mountain Region
Leland Langstraat - VP Mountain Region

Leland Langstraat is Vice President, Territory Manager over the mountain area and a principal of Sioux Falls Tower. He has been in the tower industry since 2008.

Leland was instrumental in the start up of Sioux Falls Tower’s Rapid City office in 2011 and oversees this operation as well as all other mountain offices. He has been the person in charge of building up the mountain area where he started with two men in 2011 and has taken it to multiple crews and a considerable operation spanning a ten state region. His get-it-done attitude and hard work ethic are his key attributes.

Leland took his education from the hard work and diverse experience of farm life, learning to work the land, take care of the equipment, and find joy and satisfaction in the outcome. He and his wife Kara have been married 8 years, live in Piedmont SD, and have four children.

Todd Thorin - Director of Safety and Training
Todd Thorin - Director of Safety and Training

Todd Thorin is Director of Safety and Training at Sioux Falls Tower. He has been in the tower industry since 1983 starting first as a tower technician.

Prior to his current role, Todd served as tower technician and winch operator with the company. He was the first committee chairman for the National Association of Tower Erectors and has been the director and producer of many NATE training videos including the popular Climber Connection video series. Todd is also a noteworthy drone pilot having shot much of the dramatic footage for NATE and the videos depicted on this web site. Todd brings a wealth of experience to the company with his real-life knowledge of safety having worked first in the field for many years prior to taking on his role in overseeing safety for the organization.

Todd is a graduate of Brigham Young University. He and his wife Deya have been married since 1988, live in Sioux Falls, and have six children and seven grandchildren.

Mike Fowler - Director of Marketing & Business Development

Mike Fowler is Director of Marketing and Business Development at Sioux Falls Tower. He comes with more than 10 years of professional experience in marketing, strategy and business development. His background includes innovation, market intelligence, sales and organizational strategy and development. 

Prior to his current role at Sioux Falls Tower and Communications, Mike spent his professional career working for various organizations within the nonprofit and for profit sectors. His diverse background includes working for organizations as large as 20,000 employees and smaller organizations under 100 employees as well as start-ups. He has a passion for marketing, strategic partnerships, interpersonal and organizational development, design thinking, cross-functional team strategy and management.

Mike obtained his bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University-Idaho and his master's degree from North Dakota State University. Mike and his wife Andrea have been married for more than 12 years and have two children. Although they are originally from the western states, they have lived in North and South Dakota for more than 10 years and enjoy the Midwest family centered culture.
